Here is the prologue to the story of Guillaume, a homeless man I met in Limoges, France. Through this character, true, you will discover with me behind the scenes of a society that no longer accepts his, simply because they are poor. In this year 2018, you will read on my blog, articles that inspire you, that give you a little joy, that you vivify, in short that give meaning to our life.
Imagine booking a hotel in one city and then disembark in the hotel of the same name but in another city. It happened to me during a weekend when I went to France for a wedding of a friend. The confusion was all natural to me. I spent hours negotiating for my reservation to be transferred elsewhere in the same hotel, but to no avail. Have you ever wondered what happens to your unused hotel room for the booked period when you are not reimbursed? If rented to someone else, it is a bonus at the hotel. If the room is unoccupied, the hotel does not lose, not because it is already paid. So why not give it to a homeless person for a warm night?
In five scenes, I’m going to tell you the extraordinary story of Guillaume, a homeless man I met in Limoges, France, during the winter. Through this character, true, you will discover with me behind the scenes of a society that no longer accepts his, simply because they are poor. In this year 2018, you will read on my blog, articles that inspire you, that give you a little joy, that you vivify, in short that give meaning to our life.
We are in the French city of Limoges, in the department of Haute-Vienne, in the Limousin region. We came to attend a wedding of a friend. Before departure, I had taken care to book a room in a hotel. As the two lovebirds were to be received at the town hall of Chateauroux, we had taken the hotel closest to the City Council where the wedding was to take place. The property is a stone’s throw from the town hall, and is located on Victor Hugo Street. What to do ? The plane that brought us from London landed at the airport Limoges-Bellegarde early this winter afternoon. Upon our arrival, we quickly realized that our reservation was made in a hotel, of the same name and located at Boulevard Victor Hugo in Limoges. Victor Hugo has created confusion. Assisted by the service of reception and information of the airport of Limoges, I call the hotel, and I ask nicely if there is way of transfer our reservation to Châteauroux. Impossible answers me, a girl, who advises me to contact booking.com, the agency by which we made our reservation.booking . com , the agency by which we made our reservation. To be continued)
